Toronto, ON (January 11th, 2013) - Kira Talent is pleased to announce it has partnered with the Richard Ivey School of Business (Ivey) HBA program to allow the school to better evaluate candidates during the application process. In January, Ivey will be the first undergraduate school in Canada to introduce video interview questions through Kira Talent’s online tool for all university students applying to the HBA program. This represents a huge leap forward in getting to know applicants during the screening process.
For nearly 90 years, Ivey has been the leader in undergraduate business education. In the past, Ivey’s admissions process considered undergraduate marks, extracurricular involvement, a series of essay questions, and references. With the addition of the video interview questions, Ivey will get a much more candid perspective of the applicant. “We pride ourselves on how well rounded our students are.” says HBA Faculty Director Mary Heisz. “Kira Talent’s screening solution provides us an opportunity to engage perspective students from around the world.”
Emilie Cushman, Kira Talent CEO and Co-founder, commented “We are thrilled with our partnership with Ivey and applaud their willingness to take such a significant step forward to improve the interview process.” As Canadian universities seek to attract top-students from around the globe, traditional methods of application offer limited perspectives into a candidate’s qualifications and experiences.
Kira Talent is a simple, easy to follow process for both the recruiting organization and the applicant. “We’ve chosen Kira Talent because of its clean and simple to use interface. The process only takes a matter of minutes to complete, from which we can get a more complete perspective on our applicants that simulate an in-person interview” says Manager of HBA Admissions, Jennifer Fawcett-Cornish.
Students are also excited about the opportunity. “We are part of the Youtube generation.” says university student Amanda Lazardis. “A written application does not tell my whole story. This new process allows me to have my voice heard, which improves my chances.”
